CSISD shines at annual French Symposium, Consol wins state title

Consol scored a total of 589 points in the competition, besting all 37 teams in the competition.

Students begin by taking a two hour test of grammar, vocabulary, listening skills and cultural knowledge. This is followed up by a full day of speaking, musical and cultural events. Students must advance from preliminary to semifinal rounds, and then to the finals in order to place in the top six of each event.

Individually, six of the top 10 overall winners were from CSISD.  Out of more than 900 individual competitors Jackson Hall (AMCHS) placed second, Selena Li (AMCHS) finished third, Victoria Carrera (AMCHS) earned fifth, Amanda Rasmussen (AMCHS) and Kay Watson (AMCHS) tied for seventh, and Alena Kang-Landsberg (AMCHS) came in eighth.  In addition, Catarina Hurtado (AMCHS) came placed 12th overall.

For his efforts, Hall earned a trip to the prestigious Concordia French Immersion School in Montreal, Canada, this summer.
