CSISD students earn awards at BPA national convention

AMCHS junior Matthew Simms placed second in the nation in Payroll Accounting and AMCHS senior David Wu was finished in the top 10 in C++ Programming. CSHS junior Ashika Verma placed 11th in JAVA programming.


In addition to the individual competitions, the CSISD chapters earned numerous group and individual awards.  


The A&M Consolidated chapter earned the Community Service Award of Achievement for at least 250 service hours of community service or raising more than $1,000.00 and was recognized on stage at the conference.


AMCHS senior Nooran Riaz was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award for the second year in a row.  This award recognizes individuals, families, and groups that have achieved a certain standard and is measured by the number of hours of service over a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime.


Consol juniors Katie Gray and Hailey Norris earned the Ambassador Torch Award, which requires 70 points in each of the seven Torch Award Categories (leadership, service, cooperation, knowledge, friendship, love, hope, faith and patriotism).


Additionally, Gray (regional president) and CSHS sophomore Judy Zhou (state historian) represented their respective groups as officers at the convention.


Finally, AMCHS advisor Terri Casto and CSHS advisor Dennis Rhodes both received the Honor Advisor award for 10 years of service.
