College Station ISD is always looking for qualified substitute teachers. As CSISD grows, the need for substitute teachers also grows. In order to substitute for a teacher in CSISD, a four-year college degree is required, along with attendance at one Substitute Inservice. In order to substitute as a paraprofessional (e.g., teachers aide, secretary, clerk), a high school degree is required, and attendance at one Substitute Inservice is required.

PLEASE NOTE: Registration is NOT required to attend a substitute teacher orientation date!

What are the steps to becoming a substitute?

If you are a NEW substitute applicant:

1.  Download, fill out and bring with you to an orientation the attached forms AND:

  • Your Drivers License - not a copy - must be original

  • Your Social Security Card - not a copy - must be original

  • and either a copy of an official transcript showing a four year degree conferred OR
  • A copy of an official transcript showing at least 90 college credit hours AND a letter from your academic advisor stating that you are currently enrolled in a teacher preparation program.

 

If you are a RETURNING substitute applicant:

1.  Download, fill out and bring with you to an orientation the attached forms and follow the directions on the first page of that download.

If you will be substituting as a paraprofessional (teachers aide or clerical), a copy of your high school diploma.
