College Station ISD 2009-2010 Public Notification
of Teacher Highly Qualified Status
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) requires each local education agency (LEA) to publicly report progress of the LEA and its campuses toward meeting the highly qualified (HQ) teacher requirements. College Station ISD has satisfied the requirement under the No Child Left Behind Act by having 100% of the core academic subject area teachers meet the highly qualified requirement for the 2009-2010 school year. In order to be considered highly qualified, teachers must hold at least a bachelor's degree, be fully certified in Texas, and demonstrate competency in the core academic subject area they are teaching.
