Note:  This is an overview of some of the agenda items on the April board workshop and meeting.  This recap does not include every item on the agendas.  Official meeting minutes will be made available on www.csisd.org following approval at the May board meeting.

COLLEGE STATION , Texas – The College Station ISD Board of Trustees met Tuesday, April 17.  The following discussions and actions are of note.

2012-2013 Budget Discussion / Long Range Final Outlook:  Despite the Texas school finance crisis, CSISD is viable due to previous planning and efficient use of taxpayer resources by prior boards and administrations.

The current CSISD board and administration continue to discuss the proper use of taxpayer resources, budget reductions, and responsible use of the district’s fund balance.

Waiver for Missed Instructional Day:  The board unanimously approved an application for a missed instructional day waiver.  If granted by the Texas Education Agency, A&M Consolidated High School students would not have to make up the missed day of instruction caused by a power outage on April 4.  Prior to board approval, the waiver application was also unanimously approved by the District-wide Educational Improvement Council.

Purchases:  The board unanimously approved the following purchases.
  • CSHS computers from MicroAge for $529,834.00 from 2009 bond funds.
  • CSHS audio and visual equipment from B&H Photo for $121,798.76 from 2009 bond funds.
