Seven CSISD artists advance to state

Seven artists from A&M Consolidated High School recently had pieces of on display at the State Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) held at Bryan High School.

Olga Belyanina, Marta Pate, Montana Caler, Mary Inovejas, Amber Macha, Veronica Rivera, and Katy Turner each had their art selected from 622 pieces by artists from 34 schools at the Regional VASE.  Only 40 of the 622 pieces were selected for state.

Also, at the Regional VASE, fifty-two A&M Consolidated art students displayed 71 pieces of art, earning multiple awards.

The following students earned the highest rating in their category at the Regional VASE:

Level 1:
Patricia Hall, Ravina Patel, Nicholas Smith, Kate Williams, Garrett Carstens, Ariana Koufteros,  Amber

Level 2:
Raychell Freeman, Logan Livengood, Marta Pate (2 entries), Nguyen Tran, Montana Caler (2 entries), Valerie Flores-meath, Carolyn Frankson, and Sierra Jackson.

Level 3:
Joy Cope (2 entries) Brooke Strickland, Mary Inovejas, Zach Smith, Aislin Southerland, Diana Vaught, and Cheryl West.

Level 4:
Seth Anderholm (2 entries), Olga Belyanina (2 entries), Chandler Bowersox (2 entries), Maddie Gaines, Mimi Molake, Christina Vaughn, Becky Zalmanek, Yuhua Zhang, and Dean Zhu

These works can be viewed at the CSISD district art show on May 5.  This year’s show will be held at South Knoll from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
