Six Consol students advance to state UIL academic meet

Six Consol students advance to state UIL academic meet

Six A&M Consolidated High School students advanced to the UIL State Academic Meet for their results at the recent Regional UIL Academic Meet.

Additionally, the entire AMCHS academic team placed third in the regional competition.

The following students advanced to state:
  • Patrick Lynch: First place in Informative Speaking
  • Brooke Versaw: (advance in two events) First place in Spelling & Vocabulary, First place in Team Spelling & Vocabulary
  • Kensen Shi: (advanced in three events) Third place in Computer Science, Third Place in Mathematics, Third place in Science (First in physics and 2nd in chemistry)
  • Shilpa Saravanan: First place in Team Spelling & Vocabulary
  • Taylor Zhang: First place in Team Spelling & Vocabulary
  • Samantha Wang: First place in Team Spelling & Vocabulary

The following students placed in their respective event, but did not advance to state:
  • Kensen Shi, Tanner Jasperson, Jiwhan Son, & Nicolas Schlumprecht:  2nd place team in Computer Science Programming
  • Alex Coopersmith: 7th place in Current Issues and Events
  • Kelly Zhou: 5th place in Computer Applications
  • Michelle Liu: 4th place in Literary Criticism

These students were coached by Roy Rodriguez, Caroline Hermann, Michelle Jedlicka, Dianne Rister, Terri Casto, Kathy Fisher and Jackie Shoemake
