More CSISD students honored by the National Merit Scholarship Program

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Thirty-one College Station ISD students received a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program.

A&M Consolidated seniors Gabriella Abouelkheir, Daniel Coats, Maria Defigueiredo, Donald Dennis, Victoria Fazzino, Anne Finch, Valerie Flores-Meath, Yanni Georghiades, Robert Macon Heath, Joshua Ho, Lauren Hodges, Tanner Jasperson, Kelli Klein, Matthew Lawler, Victor Leon, Wanda Lipps, Anthony Macha, Jacob Mathews, Megan McGinnis, Beatriz Oliva, Jeremy Parulian, Ryan Richardson, Ethan Smith, Meixuan Tan, Erin Taylor, Akshans Verma, Samantha Wang, Shankara Anand, Camille Aucoin, Olga Belyanina and Anas Abu-Odeh are among 34,000 students received the commendation, nationwide.

Although they will not continue in the 2012 competition for National Merit Scholarships, these students are among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition by taking the Preliminary PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Last month, 15 additional CSISD students were named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists and will compete for the honor of being named a National Merit Scholar.

In the last four years, a total of 129 CSISD students have either been named a National Merit Semifinalist or received a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program.
