CSISD students advance to state FCCLA contest

The state conference will be held April 11-13 in Dallas.

The following students qualified for state competition in their respective categories:

Environmental Ambassadors
  • Arena Ali, Alvina Ali, and Ronak Mukadam (AMCHS) – 1st Place

Focus on the Children
  • Shirin Nayahi, Mishaal Lalani, and Sayher Ebrahim (AMCHS) – 6th Place

Food Innovations
  • Nicole Gunnels and Jonathan Bradford (AMCHS) – 3rd Place

Interior Design
  • Madaleine Ackerman and Kaitlyn Terzian (CSHS) – 1st Place
  • Kate Hammond and Chris Perez (AMCHS) – 3rd Place

Interpersonal Communication
  • Hannah Reynolds and Peyton James (AMCHS) – 2nd Place

Recycle and Redesign
  • Sarah Lenox (CSHS) - 3rd Place

Additionally, the following students who met the Gold Standard on Leadership Advancement Opportunity (LEO) exams to qualify for the state competition:

FCCLA is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education.  Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life: planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication -- necessary in the home and workplace.
