COLLEGE STATION , Texas – The College Station ISD Board of Trustees met Tuesday, June 17. The following discussions and actions are of note.

Monica James named Director of Human Resources: Monica James, Director of Human Resources Operations in Manor ISD, was named the Director of Human Resources in College Station ISD. James has spent the last 15 years in HR administration in Round Rock ISD and Manor ISD.
Approval of South Knoll roof Guaranteed Maximum Price: The board approved the guaranteed maximum price for replacing the roof above the kindergarten wing at South Knoll Elementary. This project is part of the $12 million earmarked for deferred maintenance in the 2013 bond package approved by voters last November. The guaranteed maximum price from Joeris General Contractors obtained through a competitive-sealed-bid process is $205,646. The total project budget is 251,626.
Approval of College Station Conference Center demolition Guaranteed Maximum Price: The board approved the guaranteed maximum price for the demolition and asbestos abatement of the College Station Conference Center building. The new CSISD Center for Alternative Learning will be built on the site and is scheduled to open in August 2015. This small demolition package was approved to allow Joeris General Contractors to get started on the process. The balance of the Center for Alternative Learning project should be considered at the July board meeting. The guaranteed maximum price for the demolition and abatement package is $312,215, and the total project budget is $378,948.
Purchases: Two purchases of more than $50,000 were approved by the board in May.
100 Hewlett Packard laptop computers from Avinext for the amount of $83,800 from 2013 bond funds.
12 Hewlett Packard ProLiant servers from Avinext for the amount of $53,733.84 from 2013 bond funds.
