CSISD Citywide PTO annual drive collects 145,000 pounds of food

The citywide PTO easily surpassed its goal of raising 100,000 pounds of food by collecting the equivalent of 145,330.36 pounds.  Cash donations go a long way toward stocking the shelves, as each dollar donated will purchase six pounds of food for the food bank.

The mission of the food drive is to help stock the shelves of the Brazos Valley Food Bank for the summer.

The dates for the all-school friendly competition took place during the week of April 27-May 1, 2015.

A&M Consolidated Middle School earned the traveling trophy for collecting the largest amount of food this year.  AMCHS collected 37,649.1 pounds of food, which is an amazing 42.21 pounds per student.

In 2014, CSISD collected 96,621.6 pounds, while collecting 41,328.96 in 2013.
