Two CSISD musicians selected to all-state band

Bonasera and Yosko were chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at district, region, and area levels.  Only the top three percent of musicians who initially audition become All-State musicians.  Approximately 1,600 students are selected to perform in one of the 15 all-state ensembles (bands, orchestras, and choirs).

Bonasera is a student of John McSpadden and plays at school under the direction of Pieter DuPlooy.  This is Bonasera’s first time to perform as a member of a TMEA All-State organization. He is the son of Aldo Bonasera and Maggie Church.

Yosko is a student of Dr. David Wilborn and plays at school under the direction of Eric Eaks.  This is Yosko’s second time to perform as a member of a TMEA All-State organization. He is the son of Rick and Samantha Yosko.

The all-state band will perform at the TMEA State Clinic and Convention at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Saturday, February 13, 2016

TMEA is an organization of more than 11,000 school music educators dedicated to promoting excellence in music education. TMEA comprises five divisions: Band, Orchestra, Vocal, Elementary and College. TMEA leaders carefully monitor the actions of all state decision-making bodies on issues affecting fine arts instruction.
