The tractor technician team of Ian Tremblay, Aaron Crum and Weston Bishop placed second in the Texas State FFA Tractor Technician Contest, held in conjunction with the HLSR. The trio earned more than $10,000 worth of tools and prizes.
Individually, Tremblay was the third-place overall high-point winner, and earned the highest score of all competitors on the “components” section of the contest. Crum earned sixth place and Bishop won 10th, individually.
Tremblay also earned the high-point individual award in the wildlife judging contest to lead the AMCHS team to a sixth -place finish. Other team members were Crum, Noah Langley and Tyler Reim.
Tara De Leon won first place in her class by showing her market steer, third overall in the American steer scramble division, Reserve Champion Supreme Scrambler, and honorable mention in the year-end essay and scrapbook competitions.
Finally, Madison Griffin caught a calf in the calf scramble and earned a scholarship to purchase and raise a calf to show in next year’s HLSR.
