The prompt for the poster contest was “Heart Age,” and competitors had three hours of work time to complete the poster. The purpose of the contest is to improve students’ ability to interpret current health issues and express and communicate their thoughts through the development of a poster.
By winning the contest, Saripada advanced to compete in the national HOSA contest in Nashville, Tenn., in June.
HOSA is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education (HSE) Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality healthcare to all people.
