November CSISD Board Workshop/Meeting Recap

Brazos Central Appraisal District Location:  The board approved a resolution for the purchase of property and construction of a new office building by the Brazos Central Appraisal District.  CSISD was the fourth of five taxing entities to approve the resolution.  Bryan ISD, The City of College Station and Brazos County had previously approved it.


Approved Guaranteed Maximum Price for Purchasing/Warehouse Repurposing-Phase 2:  The board approved the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the work associated with phase 2 of the repurposing and renovations of the old warehouse and purchasing buildings.


The GMP for the project was based on responses to a request for competitive sealed bid proposals.  In consultation with CSISD and VLK Architects, Pepper Lawson Construction has reviewed the final scope of work, reputation of subcontractors, quality of materials specified and other relevant factors in arriving at a GMP for this project.  The guaranteed maximum price from Pepper-Lawson General Contractors for this project is $3,912,237.  The total project budget is $5,261,292.  


After beginning phase 1 of the project earlier this year, $4,665,747 remained in the original planning allocation for the phases 1 and 2 of the warehouse and purchasing repurposing project.  The district will use $595,545 in savings from other 2015 bond projects to complete the project.


Purchases/Bid Approvals:

  • Approved the purchase of computer workstations for Career and Technology classrooms at A&M Consolidated High School and College Station High Schools from Avinext for the amount of $69,166.25 to be paid from Perkins Federal Grant funds.
  • Approved the purchase of music furniture and equipment for Pecan Trail Intermediate from Wenger Corporation for the amount of $59,439.00 to be paid from 2015 bond funds.
