In addition, the CSHS Student Council was named a “Sweepstakes” council for outstanding achievement in leadership, service, and activities that serve to improve the school and community.
Sweepstakes councils must be recognized as an Outstanding Student Council and received outstanding recognition in Drugs, Alcohol, Safety and Health (DASH); Pride and Patriotism; and Energy and Environment as well as submitting a Community Service Report.
TASC has 1269 member schools. Of those, CSHS is one of 212 student councils statewide to receive this highly-esteemed honor.
“The CSHS Student Council has spent countless hours planning and executing projects that help better our school and community. As a council, it is our goal to do what we can to help others and to work hard to leave a lasting and meaningful impact on those around us,” said Ben Hanik, CSHS Student Body President. "Being a young council, we were so excited to have earned Sweepstakes for a second year in a row.”
Student Council members develop proven skills in team building, problem solving, project planning, and decision making. Through their co-curricular activities, student council members serve their communities while strengthening their academic and civic skills.
