College Station ISD is currently one of the state’s 100 fastest growing school districts in terms of enrollment, and as such, is part of the Texas Fast-Growth School Coalition.

Dating back to 1993, CSISD’s enrollment has more than doubled, going from 6,150 to 12,541 in 2014-2015.

From the 1993-1994 to the 2012-2013 school year, CSISD averaged an annual growth rate of 3.12% and gained an average of 256 students per year during that 19-year span.

However, CSISD’s enrollment has sky-rocketed the last two years – adding 1,519 students.  The growth rates the last two years have been 6.27% and 7.01%, respectively.

What are the capacities of CSISD’s current buildings and when will they be full?

The projected data in the charts below for 2015 and beyond is from a demographic survey performed by Harner and Associates.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAPACITY

Currently, CSISD has nine elementary schools (PreK – 4th Grade) with a functional capacity of 5,800 students.  Projections show CSISD elementary schools will be above capacity by the 2016-2017 school year.  If the 2015 bond package passes, elementary school no. 10 would open in 2018, increasing the capacity at CSISD elementary schools to 6,460.  By the 2018-19 school year CSISD is expected to have 6,220 elementary school students – 420 over capacity
