Mike Martindale was named Superintendent by the CSISD Board of Trustees at its meeting on April 21.

Martindale was given the interim label by the board following Dr. Clark Ealy being officially confirmed as the Superintendent of Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD on January 7. 

Martindale has been the district’s deputy superintendent and CFO since January 2016.  Prior to that, he was the first principal at College Station High School and was responsible for the opening of the school in 2012.  Martindale was hired by CSISD in 2007 as the principal of Rock Prairie Elementary.

Martindale has twenty-nine years of experience in public education with six and a half years of central office experience, including his tenure as deputy superintendent and CFO in CSISD and serving as Superintendent of Schools in Florence ISD and Director of Secondary Education in Angleton ISD. 

Additionally, he has sixteen total years of principal experience from Angleton ISD, Barbers Hill ISD, and College Station ISD, where he has served at the elementary, intermediate, and high school levels.

He began his career in education as a math teacher at Angleton High School in 1991.

A 1991 graduate of Texas A&M University, Martindale earned his Bachelor of Science with teaching certifications in math and physical education.  In 1996, he earned his Master’s of Education in Administration from the University of Houston - Clear Lake.  In 2005, he received his Superintendent’s Certification from the University of Houston - Victoria.

Martindale and his wife Alicia, who is a Spanish teacher at Wellborn Middle School, have two children.  His daughter Ava is a sophomore at College Station High School and his son Cooper is an eighth grader at Wellborn Middle School.
