Off Campus PE

College Station ISD offers an Off-Campus Physical Education (OCPE) program that allows eligible students to earn physical education credit through participation in approved, structured physical activities that occur outside the traditional school day and off campus through a partnership with approved off-campus sponsoring agencies.  This option is designed for students whose intensive training schedules make participation in the regular on-campus PE program impractical.

Purpose

OCPE is intended for students whose off-campus training is continuous, requiring significant commitment.  It is not intended for recreational activities, fitness memberships, or short-term programs.  The purpose of the CSISD Off-Campus Physical Education program is to:

  • Provide flexibility for students who are actively engaged in high-level, structured physical training outside of school
  • Allow students to earn PE credit while pursuing advanced athletic, artistic, or physical development opportunities
  • Support student wellness while maintaining rigorous instructional and accountability standards
  • Ensure compliance with Texas Education Code and TEA physical education credit requirements

Agency Approval

Participation in OCPE is not automatic and requires annual approval.  Agencies that desire to participate in OCPE can submit applications to CSISD beginning April 1. The deadline to submit an application to serve as an approved agency is May 15. Approved agencies will be notified for the 2026-2027 school year by May 22. Participating agencies will be required to submit six-week grades along with attendance documentation to campus counselors for grading purposes.
