Mentor Program

Caring adults who can consistently meet with student(s) to provide guidance, mentorship, a listening ear and model positive friendship

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must clear a background check
• Mandatory 1 hour training

• 30 minutes twice a month at lunch time
• Pilot Program runs from late January through April

• CSISD students
• elementary, intermediate and high school students
• chosen by teachers, counselors or self nominated

• Research shows students who meet regularly with their mentors are 52% less likely than their peers to skip a day of school and 37% less likely to skip a class
• Students who have a mentor are 55% more likely to be enrolled in college than those who did not have a mentor
