Retest Policy
Can students retest if they do not pass a credit by exam?
Yes, with the following restrictions:
Texas Administrative Code states that students:
- may not attempt to test out of a course more than two times and
- may not retest during the same assessment window
The testing windows listed in statute are:
Spring: April 1 - June 30 (Students testing in this window cannot retest until July 1).
Summer: July 1 - Sept. 30 (Students testing in this window cannot retest until October 1).
**Please note: If testing is conducted during this window, there will not be an opportunity to retest if necessary before school starts.
Fall: Oct. 1 – Dec. 31 (Students testing in this window cannot retest until January 1).
Winter: Jan. 1 - March 31 (Students testing in this window cannot retest until April 1).
- The cost of retesting is not covered by the district.
- Your school counselor must sign the retest form to ensure credit will be awarded.
- University of Texas High School and Texas Tech University ISD offer retest versions of their exams. Please note that CSISD will only accept the results of retest versions.
- University of Texas High School Retest Order Form Do not enter a UT EID number. This will be assigned to the student by UT.
- Texas Tech University ISD Retest Order Form
