New Substitute Information

Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute for College Station ISD. We appreciate your time and energy and we look forward to your positive contributions to our district. Here are the steps you will need to become a substitute teacher or paraprofessional:

  • Apply HERE for a substitute position and complete the application

  • A few days after you have completed the application you will receive an email from the Human Resources Director, Josh Symank, that will contain a link to sign up for a new substitute virtual orientation.

  • The day of your chosen orientation, You will also receive an email from our sub coordinator, Kelli Knott, which gives you directions as to how you can complete the fingerprinting process. If you have previously had your fingerprints done for CSISD or another Texas school district then you will not have to go through this process again.

  • NOTE- in order to start substituting immediately, it is strongly encouraged that you complete your fingerprints before you attend a substitute training orientation.

  • After completing the orientation, you will be submitted to hire and receive an email from College Station ISD with the subject New Substitute Checklist

  • This will be sent to the email account you listed on your sub application. The New Substitute Checklist will contain digital paperwork that needs to be completed in order to begin working and be paid for your services.

  • You will also receive an orientation follow up email from Kelli Knott that will walk you through all the necessary steps and documents needed to be ready to work. It will also include a link to her calendar so you can schedule your I-9 appointment (this is a required step if you have never worked with CSISD before).
