Growth and learning does not stop when we hire principals and assistant principals. In fact, the learning expectations really begin to ramp up because we need leaders that are equipped and prepared to lead their campuses at the highest levels. The Principal and Assistant Principal Collaborative sessions are designed to grow our current assistant principals and principals in their level of leadership through a variety of engaging collaborative learning experiences and sessions. Sessions are created by the Executive Directors of Elementary and Secondary Schools as well as the Director of Leadership Development and Professional Learning. These sessions are designed through the work of the CSISD Strategic Plan and tied to specific competencies of the CSISD Leadership Definition and incorporate the latest instructional leadership research and development.

As a part of their individual growth and development, principals and assistant principals complete a self assessment of our CSISD Leadership Definition. The results of this self-assessment are used in conjunction with the CSISD Principal Role Specific Behaviors and Look-Fors  / CSISD Assistant Principal Role Specific Behaviors and Look-Fors. These role specific behaviors and look-fors are created based upon the CSISD Leadership Definition with the purpose of showing each behavior and the associated evidence of impact when that behavior is enacted.
