Guidance on Immigration Enforcement
On Jan. 20, 2025, the President of the United States signed an executive order rescinding limitations on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and border patrol agents from performing law enforcement activities in “sensitive areas.” These included schools, churches, and hospitals.
In response, CSISD is providing the following information to help families and staff understand the impact on our schools:
- Does a student’s immigration status impact their ability to attend school?
- Does the district collect or maintain information about a student’s immigration status?
- Would the district disclose a student’s immigration status to federal agents?
- Have United States ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officials visited any CSISD schools?
- What happens if an immigration official comes to my child's school?
