Both CSISD chapters were among only eight chapters to win the Models of Excellence in Technical Skills out of more than 18,000 chapters nationwide.

Tannah Brister and Carolina Ocada represented CSHS, while Delphine Leoue Ngoko Djomo and Spencer Williamson represented AMCHS in the Models of Excellence Program in workshops, presentations, and interviews.

CSISD stduents placed in the top six in the nation is seven contests, including a pair of national championships.

  • 4th Place - CSHS Team: Mark Cahill, Jeremy Halling, Luke Hoffman, Chloe Merkel, Hector Guzman, Dayton Pham, and Reo Matsuda

Technical Computer Applications

  • 4th Place - Ethan Martinez, AMCHS

Residential Installation and Maintenance

  • 6th Place - Keith Adams, AMCHS

In addition to the contests, the A&M Consolidated Information Technology Chapter 3561 was recognized at the Opening Ceremony for receiving the Presidential Volunteer Service Award Gold level. To earn this award, the chapter volunteered over 1000 hours of volunteer service. The students and advisor were recognized with a gold pin and a letter from President Trump.

Alex Hilty represented AMCHS as the SkillsUSA Texas State Vice President, and Samuel Chandler represented AMCHS as our Chapter President at the National Delegation meeting and earned the votes for 2 national officers for the state of Texas.

The event held more 19,000 students, advisors and volunteers in attendance from all 50 states and territories including Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands. Students competed in more 100 different events making SkillsUSA the largest skilled and technical contest in the Nation.
