COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The College Station ISD Board of Trustees met Tuesday, September 17.  The following discussions and actions are of note.

WORKSHOP

The board did not hold a board workshop.

REGULAR MEETING

Wesson resignation:  College Station ISD Board President Jeff Harris announced the resignation of Trustee Dr. Michael Wesson.

Wesson was recently named the Department Chair for the Auburn University Department of Management and has moved.

“I appreciate the time I was able to serve on the board and learned a tremendous amount during my two terms in office,” Wesson said.  “College Station has a fantastic school district and I consider it nothing but an honor to have had the opportunity to serve the community as a school board trustee.”

Wesson was not seeking re-election for his current term which expires in November 2019.  Joshua Benn will replace Wesson’s Place 3 seat, beginning the November meeting.

Additionally, Jeffrey Horak (Place 4) and Kimberly McAdams (Place 5) will be sworn in at the November meeting.  All three of the new board candidates did not draw an opponent in the upcoming election.

Approval of Order to Cancel November 2019 Election:  The board approved an order to cancel its November 2019 election for places 3, 4 and 5 on the board of trustees.  Only one candidate filed to run for each of the respective positions and an election is not necessary.

Approval of Appointment for Appraisal District Board of Directors: The board approved two-year terms for John Flynn and Tim Jones for the Brazos County Appraisal District Board of Directors.  Flynn and Jones have represented CSISD on this board for eight and six years, respectively.

Purchases/Bid Approvals:
