College Station ISD middle and high school orchestras recently scored high marks at the Region 8 UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation.
The CSHS full orchestra, along with the varsity and non-varsity orchestras from A&M Consolidated High School, CSHS, A&M Consolidated Middle School, College Station Middle School, and Wellborn Middle School earned superior ratings in both concert and sightreading, earning sweepstakes trophies.
Breaking new ground this year, the AMCMS Orchestra took a third sub-non-varsity orchestra to UIL this year, earning a superior rating on stage and an excellent rating in sight reading.
CSISD orchestras are directed by Jennifer Day (CSMS), Mary McNeel (AMCMS), Jason Hooper (CSHS), Jane McCormick (AMCHS), and Paul Duston (WMS). CSHS band director Jon Seale also conducted the CSHS full orchestra ensemble, which is a collaboration ensemble between the orchestra program and band program of CSHS.
