Considering your background, skills, and talent, what positive contribution would you make as a member of the Board of Trustees?
I bring a lifetime connection to CSISD, four kids currently in our schools, and years of experience leading nonprofits, startups, and community initiatives. My strength is asking the right questions, listening to teachers and families, and turning ideas into action. Because I’ve been both a student and now a parent here, I understand CSISD’s culture and potential. My sole agenda is a passion to help our district thrive. I’ll contribute steady leadership, creativity, and a willingness to work hard for students and teachers every single day.
What are the responsibilities of the Board of Trustees?
Quite simply, the board’s job is to govern at the highest level. This includes hiring and holding the superintendent accountable, setting vision, and approving budgets while not managing the day-to-day. Trustees must listen to stakeholders, ask thoughtful questions, and make decisions that put students first. As someone who has worked alongside teachers, administrators, and community leaders, I see the importance of oversight and direction—done with courage and humility—to ensure fiscal responsibility, strong academics, and a healthy culture for teachers, staff, and families.
What role does the Board play in contributing to student success?
The Board contributes to student success by ensuring resources and policies align with what students and teachers actually need. That means setting budget priorities that strengthen teacher pay, intervention programs, and campus culture. Trustees don’t manage classrooms, but we do help shape the environment where teachers can thrive and students can achieve. With my own kids spread across four different campuses, I see daily how decisions at the board level ripple into classrooms, and I want to ensure those decisions always support student success.
What are CSISD's strengths, and how would you continue to foster those strengths as a trustees?
CSISD is full of passionate teachers, engaged parents, and a community that believes deeply in public education. This is by far our greatest strength, and it’s an enormous one. Our students succeed because of the talent and commitment of the people in our schools. I want to continue fostering those strengths by making sure educators feel valued, heard, and supported. As a parent and alum, I also value the strong extracurriculars, innovative programs, and reputation for excellence. All worth celebrating and building upon with smart, forward-looking leadership.
What challenges does CSISD currently face, and what are the possible solutions to address those issues?
Our biggest challenges are teacher support and hiring, state funding uncertainty, and closing achievement gaps for vulnerable students. To address these, we must prioritize teacher pay and workload relief, push for transparency in how dollars are spent, and invest in data-driven intervention and enrichment programs. As someone who has led organizations through rapid growth and change, I know authentic communication, innovation and creative thinking are the path forward. Strong partnerships with families, clear priorities, and bold leadership will help us meet these challenges while protecting what makes CSISD special.
