Grandfathering Option

Based on current home address, some students will attend a different elementary campus beginning in 2026–27.

If you received an email from CSISD, your child’s school assignment is expected to change next year. If you have questions about your assigned campus, please call 979-764-5400 or email communications@csisd.org for assistance.

Grandfathering Option for Current Students

Families of students who are currently in kindergarten through third grade during the 2025–26 school year may choose to grandfather their child to remain at their current campus for the 2026–27 school year.

  • Transportation will not be provided for grandfathered students.

  • Families wishing to exercise this option must complete their campus's Grandfathering Request Form by Nov. 7, 2025:

Sibling Clause

CSISD recognizes that families often have multiple children in elementary school. The sibling clause in the grandfathering rule is designed to help keep families together at one campus for as long as possible.

Sibling Clause:
Siblings of current K–3 students may also be grandfathered if they enroll while the older sibling is still attending the same school. Once grandfathered, these siblings may remain at that campus for the entirety of their elementary school years (K–4).

Students in Specialized Programs

If your child participates in a specialized program, boundary adjustments may not directly impact their enrollment, but other factors such as transportation may be affected.
