March 4, 2024A&M Consolidated swimmers earned bronze medals in two events, and placed in the top 25 in 19 other events at the UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships held Feb. 23-24 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin.

Tiger freshman Brooklyn Poole earned third place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.40), and junior Katherine Rasmussen, senior Sam Poole, senior Sammy Shankar and senior Mackenzie O’Donnell placed third in the 200-yard medley relay (1:48.57).

The Tiger girls’ team finished fifth overall with 138 points and the Tiger boys’ team placed 13th with 73.5 points.

“This team should be incredibly proud of themselves,” said Jenny Marquardt, swimming and diving coach. “Seeing my seniors race together on the relays, the girls’ medley winning third, my guys’ rock-solid belief in one another in their 200-yard freestyle relay, Eve nailing the second half of her dive list and watching one of our freshmen girls win third in the 100-yard breaststroke was a brilliant display of what it means to be an A&M Consolidated Tiger!”
