Two trustees sworn in; Board elects new officers


Dec. 12, 2023Two members of the College Station ISD Board of Trustees who were elected during the Nov. 7 general election were sworn into office during the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12:

  • Kim Ege, a newly elected trustee, was sworn into her first term for Place 6; and
  • Heather Simmen, a newly elected trustee was sworn into her first term for Place 7.


The two Board members will serve three-year terms that will expire in 2026.

Ege’s children, Caleb, Callie, and Sam ceremonially swore in Ege. Simmen’s children, Dane and Sloan ceremonially swore in Simmen. The new trustees were officially administered the oath of office by Cari Horn, notary public. Following the oath, the Board reorganized by electing a president, vice president and secretary in accordance with Board Policy BDAA (Local).

Trustees voted for the following Board officers: Jeff Horak was elected as Board president; Darin Paine was elected as Board vice president; and Joshua Benn was elected as Board secretary.
